Why do I always do these updates at weird times? Who is asking? Seriously, who? And why do you plague my dreams? Anyway, here's the news.

On Wednesday, I spoke with a nice lady at JCCC about taking some classes there this spring. Why? Because no one is hiring journalism majors. Not even Target. I figured the best thing to do is to broaden my horizons, so I am going to take some interactive media classes*, and see if that helps. If not, there's always plan B: Professional sleeping professional.

The forum (as introduced in the previous update) seems to be going well. So far, Siskow (who never updates his web page) has detailed his grandmother's entire life story, while BK publicly quarrels with his multiple personalities in the same thread, and Andy poses questions about video games. Oh, and some people posted some stupid pictures, too. So, all in all, it has exceeded my wildest expectations thus far (if only by not causing my computer to come to life and attempt to eat my face).

*Kind of like journalism, and at the same time, nothing at all like journalism.

Some of my regular visitors may remember my first attempt at a public forum a few months back, which resulted in maybe one person other than myself actually making a post. Well, who says I don't learn? THE FORUM IS BACK!

This time, however, it's completely public, meaning anybody can post there, and you don't need an account, a password, or even a computer*.

Also, unlike the first forum, anybody can upload images to it, so you don't need web space or even a sense of morality to post pictures on my new forum. It's a little different than most forums, but it's a lot easier than most at the same time. So go post some stuff. Even if I don't know you. You don't even have to post under your own name, so no one will know who you are. So anyway, go post some stuff. Text formatting and image uploading instructions can be found here.

*This is untrue.

I'm really digging this global warming thing. That Bush cat has his head on straight. (Kidding.) Seriously though, it's already 62º here, and it is supposed to get past 70º, which is, by the way, "mad awesome."

Sonja and I watched Spiderman last night, finally. I guess I just wasn't all that excited about seeing it in theaters when it was out. Still, not a bad movie. Andy will be happy to hear that I have no complaints about it, as I usually do. I did manage to suspend some disbelief for the comic book-movie genre.

Watching it must have made me want to work on my own web building skills (*zing), so I have updated the archive section to include all of 2002's updates thus far. I may or may not get around to adding the 1999-2001 updates, but that all depends on how bored I get over the next few days.

In other news, I have decided to stop reading the Fark comments, as way too many people that post there are complete morons, and I think it was this thread that helped me to make that decision. Morons.

I'm not sleeping much lately. I've started to learn how to do some things in Dreamweaver, so in lieu of sleep, I'm sitting here at 5:30, working on my website. On a scale of 1 to awesome, I am truly radical.

So, what have I done, you ask? Plenty, I answer. Oh, you reply? Oh yes, I retort. Enough with the jibba jabba, here's what I've accomplished:

  • All the links at the top of the page work now, including the archives, which I built tonight. I still need to incorporate all the content from, oh, 1999 to now, but that can wait. (I may not include it. Frankly, it's a chapter in my life I'd like to forget.)
  • All the links along the left side of the page are new as of yesterday's update. The box shadows are new, too, and I like 'em.
  • All links on this page have new status bar text, so instead of seeing a messy web address in the status bar, YOU SEE WHAT I WANT YOU TO SEE.
  • Hmm, now that it's all typed out there, it doesn't seem like a whole lot. I'm going to go crash on the couch.

    P.S. Go visit Snarbles

The more I use it, the less I like Dreamweaver. Maybe I should learn how to use it before I spout off about why it seems to make everything more difficult than it needs to be. You have no idea how much time it took me to get the previous update to display correctly, but I do it all for you, my visitor(s). Anyway, as you've probably noticed by now, the links are back, and they all open up in a new window.

Nothing really new to report today, except that if you need me in the next few days (ok, weeks) (make that months), I'll be in Vice City, er, at least until I get a job, which is hopefully soon.

Sonja, on the other hand, is now 100% more employed than I am, and she starts her actual job today (Tuesday). I'm doing my best not to wake her at the moment, although I'm sure I am not succeeding.

For my pals at the MD BBS, I made a desktop picture, and you can find it here.

That's all the news for now. The funny returns next time.
